REVIEW: A Heart Divided by Kathleen Morgan

A Heart Divided (Heart of the Rockies #1)
By Kathleen Morgan
Description:
It is 1878 and the Caldwells and Wainwrights have been feuding for decades. Still, Sarah Caldwell has misgivings when her father pressures her into distracting a ranch hand while he and her brothers rob the Wainwright place. When it becomes clear that hand is actually Cord Wainwright, Sarah realizes she needs to lay low. But Cord spots her in town and, with the sheriff away, makes a citizen’s arrest, dragging her off to the Wainwright ranch until the sheriff’s return. As the feud boils over, Cord and Sarah make a most inconvenient discovery–they are falling in love. Can they betray their families for love? Or will their families betray them?
My Rating: ✰✰✰✰ (4 out of 5 stars)
My Thoughts:
Sarah Caldwell is a spunky, entertaining heroine who gets pressured from her family to rob their enemy, the Wainwright’s. This sets her down a long road to love, heartbreak, and hope. Sarah eventually falls for Cord, and he for her. But can they get past all the bitterness and hatred surrounding their families?
The Wainwright brothers are very charming! Nick made me laugh. His optimistic attitude was inspiring. Cord was pigheaded, but I liked him anyways. Sarah’s little brother, Danny, was cute. I wish there had been more scenes with him. Sarah was so real. She had lost hope after all the loss and heartache in her life, but she found her way back to God.
This book had romance, drama, and even a little bit of action. Overall I really enjoyed reading “A Heart Divided” and am looking forward to reading the next book in the series!
