So Not Happening (A Charmed Life #1)
By Jenny B. Jones

Description:
New York’s social darling Isabella Kirkwood just woke up in a nightmare: Oklahoma.

Isabella Kirkwood had it all: popularity at a prestigious private school in Manhattan, the latest fashions, and a life of privilege and luxury.

Then her father, a plastic surgeon to the stars, decided to trade her mother in for a newer model.

When her mother starts over with her new husband, Bella is forced to pack up and leave all she knows to live with her new family in Oklahoma. Before her mother can even say “I do,” Bella’s life becomes a major “don’t.”

Can Bella survive her crazy new family? Will the school survive Bella? How can a girl go on when her charmed life is gone and God gives her the total smackdown?

My Rating: ✰✰✰✰✰ (5 out of 5 stars)

My Thoughts:

New York socialite Bella Kirkwood’s life is going down the tubes. Her parents just got divorced and her mom is marrying a maxi-pad manager with two sons who happen to live in Oklahoma. The new school hates her, but she manages to get back in their good graces with a little mystery solving and Luke Sullivan, cute editor of the newspaper staff.

I loved the mystery and romance in this book. Bella is hilarious! She made me laugh too many times to count. She also has quite a knack for trouble. Luke is adorable and I loved his egotistical, brainy, yet charming character. Budge and Robbie, the stepbrothers, were so annoyingly lovable. I loved seeing the family grow closer together.

Jenny B. Jones is one of the most talented authors I have yet to read from. Her books are sweet, funny, a little quirky, heartfelt, engaging, and absolutely loveable. I got sucked into “So Not Happening” so quick I could barely put it down for air.  If you’re in for a funny mystery that’ll keep you reading, A Charmed Life is definitely the series for you.
